Interview, company advertises as "Business Casual"? |
I have an interview scheduled for the end of this week. In doing some additional research on this potential employer, I noticed that they "advertise" business casual M-Th and casual on Fridays, it seems to be one of their main selling points to potential candidates. Am I all right showing up khaki pants and a golf shirt, or should I still dress the part of a prospective employee and wear a suit? I am interviewing for a Network Administrator position. P.S. The "Prospective Employees" page on their website shows the CEO wearing shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. Even though the company may be very casual, I would recommend you dress business formal for any job interview. Those employees that can get away with golf shirts at work have already proven themselves. You have not and need to make an excellent impression. You can always show a bit of humor in the interview if you are concerned about being too stiff for the company. I would still suggest you to wear a busines formal as you never know the preception of the potential interviewer. So play it safe buddy....All the vwery best for the interview. Being overdressed is ALWAYS better than being underdressed. My advice is go dressed up...you look more professional that way, and it shows you cared enough to do so. Good luck! If the corporation manufactures casual clothing, I would go casual. Anything else, suit & tie. I interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch and they told me dress casual; good thing I did, the manager interviewing me wore t-shirt, shorts & flip-flops. Good luck. http://ohio-insurance-forum.blogspot... com/ Never go to a first time interview without having a suit and tie covering your body. For a second interview they might suggest something else but remember the adage about first impressions. For the interview, always go in a suit regardless. Some people want to show their causal side during the interview and end up showing a side I wouldn't want to have a customer ever see. The CEO may be a lax person, but trust me, the CFO isn't or else no one has a job! |
