Why do we register to search jobs? |
So, I am looking for a new job, and every company am interested in applying requires to create an account. It is really annoying to have to come up with id and keep track of passwords, BS. How is this smart, also I read software scans resume now days to select best matches, BS, I guess I just have to put a lot of BS all over my resume so I can at least get a personal response. When you job searching and submitting resume directly to employer web site, you are essentially performing data entry for them. Potential employers want you to enter data in such a matter that can be searched in many different ways in the future. Keep in mind technical skills and keywords are not the only items they could possibly want to search. For example, your physical location, your desired job location, whether you want or could tolerate travel etc. Not every person explicitly include these kind of information on their resume. So employers ask candidates enter them specifically into their system. The user id and password also allow you to return to the site to update your resume. If this is annoying to you, then try using generic job sites that do not require registration but only upload your resume. Best wishes. What job websites are you using? Try hotjobs.com and careerbuilder.com. They only require you to register once. After that, you'll need to upload your resume in your profile. Then you can start looking for jobs under their website. If you see a job that you like, just click the "apply" button and send your resume over. Otherwise, try craigslist.org. This website allows you to look for jobs without registering. The jobs on this website gives you an e-mail address where you can send your resume to. |
