Event's management jobs- what qualifications??

I have found a course in event's management and you gain a ASET level 3 diploma. Does this ring any bells to anyone.
Even looking at jobs for event's management they do not seem to state that there are any qualifications necessary!

Most events management people would rather see the person in real life - face to face interview as it's more important esp.
- physically, communication skills, PR experience
while academic qualifications are just secondary.

Usually ppl can come from various field; either marketing, mass communication, PR, business communications, advertisnig, even business info. technology etc. as long as it relates & can held the EVENTS & will do all to manage it successfully.

Even models, with no academic qualifications but experience in selling /conducting the events or MC experience can be very well paid. If you don't hv hands on experience, thn getting experiences via the course will cover more things in-depth & professionally. Most of my friends in events management emphasized on being well groomed physically, ability to converse, communicate & manage the events, people & the marketing, producing & selling the products/services of the events itself while a handful of them do hv a diploma/degree in Mass Communications, Marketing & etc. main thing you've passion & enjoys meeting people.
There are no necessary qualifications. It tends to be a business where you get yourself a few well paying clients and just do it. My personal choice is the military. They don't generally pay as much as the corporate world, but the work is steady and regular.
A diploma basically just helps you get a foot in the door. But volunteer work does it even better because you not only network with others it shows a passion & natural ability for the work, not just the pay.

There are alot of things involved with events management. Hiring, firing, keeping track of accounts, arranging the entertainment & theme, setting goals, advertising, communication, dealing with the media, the list is endless. If it's a success it's teamwork, if it's a failure it falls back on you. It pays good but is pretty much a thankless job except for your employers. Even then often you only get praised if you did an exceptional job, no matter how much effort you put into it.

Definitely not for one that needs affirmation for their work.
