I am thinking of selling ~Avon Cosmetics. Should I be cautious. If so why? |
Would it cost much to start up this business and could I make a living from it? I've heard that reps get Company Cars! costs nothing to start up, you would need to have a zillion friends that will buy from you steadily for months, i have a friend that has a large client base and she gets like two free products for it, and i have never heard of anyone making a living off it, its something women do like on a saturday afternoon.........the reps at the company headquarters might get company vehicles, but door to door saleswomen dont......... i did it once its ok if u get customers who dont let u down but its hard work sometimes especially if its rainin one of the least expensive beauty companies to get into, but its a lot of work, if you have lots of repeat customers consistently you can make money. A friend of mine did it for a while and she said it was a waste of time!! In order to make a living from it you would need to put in a lot of time and effort to build up a clientele base!! Most Avon sellers just do it as a little thing on the side to earn a little extra cash. Only the really determined people make a good living out of it!! I have never heard of an Avon seller getting a company car!! My mom sold Avon back in the 50's, so as for start up costs, I don't really know what the cost is, so that is something you need to check into. Getting established with prospective customers will take time, but once you get going, you should do just fine. If you have the "gift to sell," then you'll do well. I don't know about reps getting cars, but I do know that women who sell Mary Kay cosmetics, get a car for top sales of the year or something like that. I heard the Derek Jeter toiletries for men is a big seller. I really wonder just how much one can make on Cosmetics. They are available at your local CVS Walgreen Rite Aide etc. On line there are constant offers to try skin creams of all kinds for the price of Shipping You can get it on EBay,as well as All Department stores have cosmetic counters unless you have a large family, friends and neighbors that are willing to support your business long term , to me it seems that it will be difficult to make a living at selling cosmetics. Avon does not have cars for the Reps. That is Mary Key cosmetics. and it takes a lot of selling to qualify for the car . Avoid like the plague, my missus did it last year and ended up owing them money because of a website error on their part. she orders the stuff and catalogues on that she needs for each promotion and one particular time the website crashed and didnt register her order, she therefore redid it all and found that it actually did register the 1st order and therefore she had 2 lots. because of avons policy, she couldnt return any catalogues or products and was left with about 拢200 to pay and stuck with stuff should couldnt sell. |
