Jobs or school?

ok i am 19 i have wasted engough time i have been out of school for 2 years now i have been laid off for 7 month now so i was thinking about going back to school so i did after all this i have been alllying all over the place the one place that calls me back wants me to drop out of school because the work schuld wont work out it full time weekend off 8 to 6 10.00 hour so what do i do i need money i need to pay off my car and other stuff i dont know what to do with this please help

I would choose school first & part time job like flipping burgers, working in bookstore & etc.

The car & other expensive monthly expenses would have to be sold off. Either that, if you can car pool or drive people off to school to earn some money.

I worked for some time right after high school, but the salary were never better thn those in dip./degree. Besides knowledge & etc. so I went back to college. Life wasn't all heaven, but luckily I often work part time & during college breaks doing -data entry, waitressing, librarian & eventually I use what I learn in college to do designing, IT stuffs, web & multimedia stuffs & even became a tutor & trainer for workshops. My salary increasedly steadly. I'm glad I'm debts free. Currently many people envy me for my academic backgrounds & job experience. Many have often told me how they regret never finishing off their studies.

Some went back to school eventually to get back paper qualifications & catch up what they've left behind. They felt left behind due to their age. But I always support them. The thing is never give up in what you do no matter it's job or school.

If I were you, I will only take the job if it offers much experience & pays well. Else just school is a better option. If you can take studies loan maybe that might help a bit.

Good luck!
I look at it this way: you can work now and earn money but in 10 years or less you'll be wishing you had a degree to get a real job. Or you can get a degree now, live the starving-student life for 4-6 years, and then find a decent job to pay off your debts. I did the latter and I'm under 30 with a really good paying job. My brother is in his mid-30s and is back in school because he can't keep a job.

This is also the advice of Suze Orman in one of her books (Young, Fabulous, and Broke)
I'd generally advise someone to go to college first. However, if that person has lots of debt, that debt will only get worse if he/she can't pay keep making payments while in school. If you can make the payments while you're in school, then go for it, then get a job after you graduate and pay the remainder of your debts. But if you know that you can't make those payments (for example, your car) while going to school, then I honestly think that you should work for a year, pay off as much as you can of your debt, then you can start school without the baggage and worry about debt and you can focus on school only. Your grades will be better and you can enjoy being a student more without worrying too much about the debt you have now. Plus the work experience will help you get a better job after graduation. If you decide to do this, and you've already been accepted at a college, call the college and ask them what forms you need to fill out if you want to defer your studies for a year so that you can work. Make sure though that you do really well at your job so that you can get great references from your bosses for the future. Good luck.
