You need to give your social security number for any paid work. You can't use your mom's info. You need to apply for a social security card of your own if you don't have one. Sorry your mom has fallen on hard times. You'll get through it. You might be able to get a job in fast food or a grocery store at 15.

For the poster above, no you don't have to be 18 to get a job. I worked full time from 16-18, and helped pay a mortgage. I wish my life were that simple.
If you want to get paid, you will need a social security number. If you don't have one, apply for one immediately. It doesn't matter if you are 14.
Chances are likely that they WILL need your social security number. While your SSN may get used in a variety of ways, including as an employee tracking number, the main reason they NEED it is to pay the required federal taxes for the work you perform.

As to whether you can use your mother's information. I wouldn't advise it. When you get caught (Basic rule: Always assume you'll get caught) you will be terminated both because the company could face severe consequences for having a minor working for them without filing the proper paperwork concerning that minor and you've now proven yourself to be untrustworthy meaning any input you provided concerning your experiences with the games you play would be questionable at best.

An additional item to consider, using your mother's SSN constitutes Identity Theft (even if you have her permission) and could lead to both state and criminal charges being brought against you when you're caught.

Your best bet is to apply honestly. If they're truly interested in game testers then they'll likely have a program available to work with minors as the teenage crowd is still the #1 purchaser of video games. You may find yourself limited as to the number of hours you can play the game (at least how many hours they could pay you for) but you'll get something, it will be legal, and you could use the experience on your resume when applying to future jobs (even other jobs as a game tester or designer). You should read the FAQ's on that website.

"Is there an age requirement?

Yes, there is. In order to apply for a job you MUST be 18 years of age or older, there are no exceptions. This is due to child labor laws. "

For the poster BELOW...I know you don't have to be 18 to get a job. But some jobs do have an age limit on them, and this one apparently does! It was taken from the jobs website directly.

But yes, even if he did qualify, you have to have a SSN #.
In other words, you will have to wait until you're 18 to apply, with or without a social security number.
I read over the site, and it sounds fake. There should not be a monthly fee for a job. And membership should not be a requirement for a job either. You should not do this because your mom will get ripped off.
