Best practice for answering questions you dont know the answer too.?

I recently got a new job and finished all my training. Even after training I don鈥檛 know the answer to most questions Im asked by customers. My co-workers are becoming a little annoyed at me continually asking them for the answers to the same questions over and over. Lately if I don鈥檛 know the answer to the question I just make something up. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Well, I can assure one thing... keep "making something up" and you won't have to worry about knowing your customers' questions for much longer, as you will soon be out on your ***.

I would get a little annoyed too if the same person kept asking me the "same questions over and over" (your words, not mine). Ask them, and then write the answer down in a notebook. Next time a quetion comes up, check your notebook for the answer before asking someone.

If they are already too annoyed with you to answer at all, just explain to them your plan. They should see that you are now trying, and give you the answer that you need.
You shouldn't have to ask the same quesiton twice. Asking the question once is fine. If you have any research material, use it. Don't try to undertand everything, look at the big picture and get a understnading of how it all works. Use the logic to answer questions.
