What are some jobs were I can go camping but I need to go to college? |
I want a job were I can go camping but go to college for it. In Michigan you can work for the Department of Natural Resources. I'm sure most states have some department dealing with hunting, wildlife management and the state parks. Federally you can work for the National Parks Service. Most of these jobs require college degrees to get your foot in the door, I'm not 100% sure what degree is required, but going to their websites and looking at any job opening requirements would be a good start! Before believing a college advisor, do yourself a favor and go to one of the parks and talk to the employees about their backgrounds and what they majored in. College advisors are notorious for lying to get you enrolled, but having never worked in the field, not knowing anything about how to actually get a job in the specified field! Source(s): 15+ years hiring & recruiting experience You do not need a college degree to go camping, in fact very little education is needed to be successful in the outdoors. If you want a job where you will be out in the wildereness most of the time, and also have a college degree to do that work, consider the following: * Archeologists go to all kinds of strange uncomfortable places and dig up history from centuries ago ... while they spend most of their day in the desert in 150 degree temperatures, typically they spend the night in a real bed ** There's a new branch known that combines Archeology with Climatology ... what you are digging up is Geological evidence from centuries ago to figure out what the climate was in historical times, to help project trends with and without involvement of mankind ... the outdoors for these people might be Antarctica, which for some people might seem like camping out * Consider the kind of work done by US Dept of Interior, when it comes to managing wildlife in wildlife preserves and national forests ... they too spend most of their day in the wilds, but at night they are not camped out, but normal inside * Perhaps scientists that visit active volcanoes, or go down into holes in ground created by earthquakes, holes that could close at any moment, might appeal to you |
