What is your opinion regarding the call center industry?

if the compensation is good, would you like to work there even if you have earned a college degree?

I've worn a headset in different companies for a total of 15 years. The pay has declined since they started using technology companies overseas. The industry has set higher standards in terms of Quality Assurance and agent performance. They are very interested in agents who can speak more than one language. There are bonuses for that talent.
Some places are fun with a nice work environment. Some dropped the letter o out of hello a long time ago.

I always did inbound work which means the person called the company that I worked for.

Some agents call out to people who do not expect the call. That takes a special temperament for outbound calling.

Many people there did have college degrees or were working for them. Some were using this job as a way to get in the door and then posted for bettter jobs once inside. Source(s): 15 years in the job
I work at a call center. Don't like it, but right now until I finish school it's pretty much all I'm qualified for.
I worked at the AT&T call center for a while. I got my Bachelor's from an accredited university in California as well. My decision to work there was definitely the pay. Just about $30/hr made my decision. Great hours, great commission, great benefits. Good luck!
It's a fast growing industry.

Wish you best of luck!

Don't know much about it. I would imagine ya have a certain amount of calls expected to answer, and would also guess that typing is very important.
I can't do that job. My throat gets too dry from talking too much, and I start coughen a lot, and then I feel dumb. :o( Now I cut meat for a living! (Deli)
