What sort of jobs are there within the music industry ?

From producer to the business side, what sort of skills are required and how would i go about getting into this type of job ?. Thanks.

Well, if you want to be a producer or an engineer you'll need to attend a course like Popular Music and Recording (e.g. at Salford Uni)(www.salford.ac.uk). Also, you will have to build up experience and start from the very bottom (i.e. making tea). The more experience you get, the better.

There is also a Music Industry course at City College Manchester that you might like. It covers all aspects of the business end, and I think you might help run the college's record label. (www.ccm.ac.uk)

However, be warned, it's a hard business to crack into! Source(s): experience
