What is an employer looking for when they ask for hardware/software?

I'm filling out a state job application and it asks me to list the computer hardware and software that I am familiar with. Do they just mean PC and Mac for hardware? I had an IMac right when they first came out and haven't touched a Mac since... does that count? I assume for software I would put windows, word, internet explorer, etc...? I just finished library school and have a lot of experience with different library operating systems as well as databases... are these considered software? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I want to get this job and I'm just having trouble figuring out what counts. Thank you for your help.

Hardware is the PC, MAC, printers, scanners, modems, CD/DVD/DVR reader/writers, etc. List everything you can think of that remotely relates.
Pretty much, most entry level jobs are looking for:

Can you operate a PC.

If so, can you do this with minimal help?

If so, then that means you can use Windows, Office, Excel, and perhaps even run a photocopier or fax efficiently.
