What is "ote" as in eg. 75000 pounds OTE?

"On Target Earnings"

It means that this is not your salary, which you will receive regardless.

It is based on a "Target" performance (normally sales), and you are paid against that performance (normally a sales commission).
So if you sell nothing, your pay might be nothing.
'On Target Earnings'

This means what you would earn if you hit your 'target,' so typically, it may or may not inculde a basic salary.

You should approach this with caution, as many sales jobs are advertised in this manner, and the target referred to may be completely unrealistic, so ask questions!
