3 step dispute process-Do you have to be told in person that you are to be dismissed/made redundant?

I have a risk of redundancy hanging over my head at work. I have taken this week off as holiday as my probationary period finishes this Sunday, 23rd April. As of Monday, 24th April I will be entitled to three months notice period. What I would like to know is do my company have to tell me 'face to face' that I am to be made redundant or can they do it over the phone or in a letter?

Thanks

Suzie

If u are redundant your manager will call u to his office and tell u.If it is because of a disciplinary record the final warning will usually be by letter.
I don't think they are required to tell you face to face. But I think if would be the most considerate way to do it. Maybe it's just me.....
