I am taking on a part time job how much do i need to earn before i pay tax and national insurance?

i wil be doing 18 hrs a week, is this to much to not pay tax if yes by how much, i am only earning 拢5.05 per hr

The average is 拢420.00 per month or 拢96.00 per week before you pay National Insurance.
If you are on the average tax code this year which is 503L then it's 拢420.00 too before you pay tax.
The way it works with Tax is you add a 5 onto the end of your code so in this case 5035 divide by 12 which is rounded up to 420.00 per month.
So 18 hours x 5.05 = 拢90.90 so you should be just under Source(s): Payroll Qualification
I'm not sure but I think you start to pay tax from the moment you get your first paycheck. You need your NI to start earning anyway and so the tax is automatically taken out.
Depends if its declared or not
