Do I have to pay NI (National Insurance) on UK Capital Gains?

When I sell UK shares and calculate the capital gains tax, do I also need to make a National Insurance payment on those gains? Or does NI only apply to UK income tax?

No, you don't have to pay NI on Capital Gains. It only applies to income. Source(s): http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/
