How much income tax do you pay in the UK? |
Any figures for an annual income of 30k拢, 40k拢, 50k拢 ? Or better, is there a tax calculator online? There are two types of UK tax, Income and National insurance Income tax is the usual goverment tax while National Insurance covers Healthcare and Pensions and those on the dole although at the end of the day it goes into the same pot. Everyone in the UK gets a personal allowance of income on which they pay no income tax. The current level of personal allowance is 拢5,035pa although this increases if you are blind (拢1,660) , over 65 year old (拢2,245) and you get an extra allownce you can share with your partner if you are married (拢1,030) Standard tax rates on a non married person are therefore: 0% on the first 拢5,035pa 10% on 拢5,035 to 拢7,185pa 22% on 拢7,185-拢35,450pa and 40% on income over that. National insurance is charged at 0% on the first 拢4,888pa 11% on 拢4,888 to 拢32,760pa and 1% on income over 拢32,760pa and 40% on any income Tax would therefore be on those amounts quoted 拢30k = total incomeand NI = 拢7,996 拢40k = total incomeand NI = 拢11,390 拢50k = total incomeand NI = 拢15,490 Too much. Too f--cking much thats for certain!!! Every time i pick pu my pay packet i feel that i have been raped by my Government! 22.5% This is a quick calculator which will work out your net income after tax and NI. http://www.i-resign.com/uk/financialcent... http://www.listentotaxman.com/ |
