I would like to claim some tax money back because I believe I am paying too much of it. How do I go about it?

I am decent individual (living in the UK) and just like everybody, I am paying taxes. I believe I am paying too much of it and I would like to claim the money back because I am entitled to it. How do I go about asking for a refund from the HMRC?
I am entitled to claims like:
1. washing my uniform at home
2. paying subscription to my trade union
3. paying a monthly gift aid to a charitable association

thanx

you need your p60 to claim all you need to do is send it to your local office and ask them to review your tax payment.
Also inform them about your uniform and other payments.
check online any of your questions

just go to the tax office and explain your situation they are not there to do you out of money they will give you honest advise
call tax ppl and ask for refund
Have you not filled in a self-assessment form? Maybe you should go to an accountant for advice on what you can claim for. You may have to pay them but their advice could save you 拢's in the long run.
I live in the US and when that happens you should go get an accountant and go over that last couple of tax forms. I think, but not 100% sure, that you can go back 7 years and re-claim what was missed and what can be proved. Also, if you use a computer software tax prep, I think that there is a place that you can ask and check the return.

#1, I don't know about.
#2, I'm pretty sure that some, if not, all can claimed.
#3, that can be claimed with receipts from the companies that you donated to with the dates and amounts.
Find your local tax office and take your wage slips with you, then they can check your tak code and you can ask them questions. I had to reclaim tax a couple of years ago and my tax code had changed. The office tried to change it through my employer, they phoned them up whilst I was there and everything and they still didn't do it. I ended up asking the accounts department for my employer to change my tax code and it was done staight away. Below is a government site on tax information.
