What percentage of my salary is emergancy tax?

the lower rate is 10%
the basic rate is 22%
the higher rate is 40%
Emergency Tax assumes basic rate allowance, all at 22%ask your employer, how would we know

dont know but i had to pay emergency tax when i was waiting for my p45 to go through they took 拢86.46 out of 拢232.00 i was really pissed off!
Way too much! Probably highest income tax band at 40% at a rough guess!
I've never heard of emergency tax, I'd check it out with your employer.
