How to get a VAT Number in the UK? |
where/how would i go about getting a VAT Number? No need to register at Companies House - that's only for companies. You can register for VAT even as a sole trader. To register for VAT you'll have to fill in a "VAT 1" registration form. The HMRC website has a guide to VAT registration and includes a link to the registration form itself. See link below (in source box) Source(s): http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsporta... I think you need to register your company at Companies House and I think you can become vat registered with them. They'll give you details of how to apply. It can be done over the internet (surprise, surprise). You might get some info from the Inland Revenue site. They're always after money. telephone your inland revenue office. They'll send you the forms Set up your own company. Freely go along working hour after long hour, raking the money. Store in suitcases under your bed and around your home. Carry on in this manner for years and buy a big house, buy a flash car and one day some jealous individual will report you to the inland revenue. They will investigate you and then give a retrospective VAT number and tax bill. That's what I did anyway |
