How do you find out how much national insurance etc you have paid?

I have lived abroad for the last 4 years and want to return to the UK, but I want to know how much I have paid in N I contributions and how much I need to pay to get back to the required amount.

You need to contact the Pension Service and ask for a Pension Forecast. They will send you a form BR19 to complete and return to them. You should get a detailed reply in about 6 weeks.

I understand that you can do this online as well at their website - www.thepensionservice.gov.uk Source(s): http://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk/atoz...
Get in touch with ministry of pensions in newcaste and ask they will tell you
email ..pensions .gov .uk you will find them there
Just ring the Inland Revenue and give them your Nat Ins number. They write back to you in around 10 days.
Contact the Contributions Agency, now part of the Inland Revenue. Get phone number from nearest IR office.
You will need your NI number.
