Where do i go to file wisconsin state taxes for free?

check online, not sure,
Go to the IRS website http://www.irs.gov/efile. If you make less than $52,000 per year, you can file for free. You may also want to look up community resource centers in your area. They are always offering free service for people to file their taxes. Just have to look it up while you are online.
You could go to a TCE or VITA tax site. They will prepare you return for you for free. If it's just the state return you will have to mail it. But if they do your federal they can e-file both for free.
(can't e-file state by itself)

I don't know about sending a hard copy in the mail, but I have been using H & R Block's online service for the last several years. I think I spent about $40 this past year, and that ended up in all of my forms being filled out, checked for errors, and e- filed (both federal and state).
