Florida Tax???? |
Hey I live in NJ and am buying a product from Florida, are the Florida taxes applicable to me??? Thank you so much! The other answers are wrong. If you are buying a product from Florida while you are in NJ, there is no sales tax charged by the seller, unless they have a NJ office. But the state of NJ will want you to pay them a sales or use tax on out-of-state purchases. If you go to Florida and buy the product while you are there, the seller will charge you sales tax. Source(s): A great deal of experience in multi-state sales tax matters.. If the product is being shipped to NJ, then NJ sales tax should apply. But if you were in Florida and bought the item, then they charge you Florida tax. They would charge you NJ tax. Personally, I am charged 7.75% sales tax because that is the rate in my county. If I was in LA County, I would be charged 8.25%. Florida has a sales tax of 6%. If you are buying products from Florida legally you would be liable to taxes to that extent. depending on the value and where you buy it from. If you purchase through the Internet you may find that you don't pay the tax. If you drive to Florida and purchase the item you will pay the tax. A simple answer is yes the Florida taxes are applicable to you, But there are exceptions. http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/taxes/new.h... |
