How can I file my 2004 taxes!!?

The IRS owes me money, and I know I have a ywo year window to file after the deadline... I just dont know how to file my 2004 taxes. Is there a special form...?

Call the number and request the forms you need. http://www.irs.gov. They won`t bite your head off they are very helpful. You do not have a year window, the most you could have had was from april to august of 2005 if you have filed an extention. Please trust me on this as I have dealt with the IRS for MANY years. Did you receive a 1099? Depending on your income ,filing status & dependents you may not owe anything. There are many many deductions even if you are filing from a 1099.

Use the same forms you would have used if filed on time.
Use turbotax online. They will let you file previous years taxes. It's easy - the computer program walks you through the whole procedure.. Nothing to mail, your refund will be deposited directly into your bank account!
You'd need a 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ from that year - you can download those at irs.gov - go to more forms and publications, then to prior years, then to 2004. You might also need some additional forms, depending on what kind of income you had. For the 2004 year, you have a year yet to file, but might as well get it done asap and get your money back. Since they owe you, there won't be any penalty for late filing.
Judy has all the facts. Go ahead and get them done.

good luck and happy returns
