I want to use Turbo Tax this year and need to know if it can import my tax files from Tax Cut from last year.? No you can't. Two very different softwares from competing companies. Careful, Turbo Tax sucks (it always has!) To your email: I used to use the Personal Advantage tax software which was fantastic. Turbo Tax bought them and dumped the software. So I switched to Turbo Tax. What a pain! Very clumsy, counter intuitive. Now you can get free software to use on the net. Did that last year and it worked better than TT. Also, looked at TT a week ago and find they charge like $59. for it. Yikes! What a ripoff. I do not know "exactly" the answer to this question, as I have not used Turbo Tax in many many years. I have used Tax Cut, very happily. Considering that they are competing products from competing manufacturers, I would guess not. And if they did, I'd be very careful of the conversion process, as they may misplace or mistranslate data. In your shoes, I'd print my return, and enter the data manually. Good Luck According to TurboTax.com, you can import last year's TaxCut file (2005 filing) into this year's TT desktop (2006 filing). http://support.turbotax.intuit.com/cgi-b... i switched from tax cut in 2000 to turbo tax online it has kept every year i filed on their data base so i always have a back up if i ever need to look at my return changing from one program to another is the hard part but well with it in the long haul http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-1905095-104... |
